Running Tough
LC's Palmer a Blue Collar Back
For the Lake City high school football team, winning is everything.
In a program where a state championship is a realistic goal year in and year out, hard work is instilled to reach the goals set forth; if you want something, you go get it.
LC senior running back BJ Palmer is microcosm of that philosophy.
The T-Wolves (6-0, 1-0) who are currently riding an 18 game winning streak heading into the 6th week of play, are heavily favored in the gem state for a repeat state title, but Palmer is quite adamant about taking each game one at-a-time.

Dj Wright - Orofino, HS
RC: The Central Idaho League has produced some of the more prominent 2A football squads in the state of Idaho. With your Maniacs' atop the CIL, do you feel the tradition will continue?
DJ: I definitely feel this year we have a great chance to be contenders for the state championship. We still have quite a ways to go, but we have tons of potential. If we keep getting better each week, we're going to get to where we want to be.
RC: How big is Kamiah-Orofino rivalry? And with last years 7-6 loss to the Kubs in the 2006 semi-finals, will it be even more heated?
DJ: The Kamiah-Orofino rivalry to us is like Idaho and BSU. It's like North Carolina and Duke. It's just a great rivalry between two good programs. And after last year's loss, we're definitely getting a little more pumped up.
